About Renshi Knight:
With 29 years of training and experience in the Martial Arts, Karen Knight has earned a 6th Degree Black Belt in karate and a 4nd Degree Black Belt in weapons from the most prestigious karate and weapons master in the United States, he is Tadashi Yamashita. She is also one of only 2 women in the world that has earned the rank of 6th degree Black Belt under Master Yamashita.
Her training started at the age of 23 soon after she had her second child Lloyd II. She had started working out at a local gym to lose weight, when her husband ask her why she was spending money on going to a gym when she could be training in karate. That way she would lose weight and be able to protect herself and their children. So she did!
Karen and Lloyd Knight own and manage one of the largest Dojos located in the beautiful city of Murreita-Temecula, California. There you will find her out on the Dojo floor teaching the children that she affectionately refers to as "Her Kids".
Her love for the martial arts can be easily seen in the way that she has inspired so many mothers of the children that she has taught to also join. There are now 50 families that practice karate on a regular schedule at the Dojo.
Previously taught P.E. program for grades K-2 at Pechanga Band of Mission Indians on their reservation for three years. Recently she is also teaching the Eagles Peak Charter School working with 7th and 8th graders on confidence, discipline, physical and spiritual growth.
While being such a kind, considerate and caring Resnshi, she is still a tough instructor when it comes to her SWAT team. She insists on nothing less that perfection when it come to doing demonstrations in public. They have performed at many different social functions around Temecula, including the 4th of July parade winning 2 awards from the City of Temecula.
A few words from Renshi Karen Knight:
"Life is far to short to waste, everyone should live it to the fullest. I am very glad that I took the opportunity when I had the chance, to make karate the center of my family's life. My daughter Melissa is a 2nd Degree Black Belt, while my son is a 1st Degree Black Belt and I am now living a life that most people only dream about. The recognition that I get from the people whose lives I have changed with their training, is one of the best rewards that life has to offer."
